The space wars started after a few events that triggered the V to act on his major plan. These events were as follows. 1st there was the destruction of Ulrax, 2nd there was the “first” killing of Ego, and 3rd there was the Alien hunters killing multiple species. Then the V decided it was time to enact his master plan, so he first needed to take out Cozmo and the rest of the Ego supremacy, then he would cleanse the universe of the UU.
