Otia is the god of the Youy monks, he is called “sun god Otia.” Otia lives in the Temple of Otia, and nobody has seen him except for Bong Banobao. Otia never leaves the temple because he believes anyone who looks at him will die if they aren’t the spiritual leader of the entire monk nation. Otia is a large, plump man, who sits at his shrine all day. He wears a tan robe with a brown stripe running through the middle diagonally.

In reality, Otia is not actually a god, he didn’t create the sun and he didn’t create any life. He is just a immortal celestial with a sun staff. The sun staff allows him to shoot people with powerful sun rays just by pointing it at them. This staff was gifted to him by the universal lounger 1700 years ago, and he has been serving as god of the Youy monks ever since.

Otia is an exceptionally wise and intelligent person, convincing an entire nation and their spiritual leader that he is a god. He frequently gives wise advice to Bong Banobao, which are so wise that Bong can’t even decipher what they mean.
