Yurko

Yurko Guseppy, also known as the “man under the sea” is a giant on Earth who lives underwater and can breathe underwater. Yurko lives in a big ravine next to a village of people who give him food. In return, Yurko protects the village from threats. Yurko can speak only a few words, some of which are “no”, “yes”, and “food”. But once in a while he also says you’re welcome or thank you. Yurko only eats the food that the village gives him because he loves the fish and other animals in the oceans. In order to call Yurko if there is danger, there are a few men that can call him up in the village using a huge horn. The reason only a few men can call him up is because the horn takes so much air to blow so there are only a few men with the lung capacity to do it. If there are none of the men available to use the horn, then Yurko will never come up because he only comes up for food or if the horn is blown. Any other sound will not cause him to go up. Yurko spends most of his time sleeping, but he wakes up to defend the village or to eat. In order for him to know when there is food, a villager can ring a huge bell that will wake him up. This bell can be rung by anyone and the men who blow the horn are not the only ones who can ring the bell. The reason people attack the village could be because they want the land, or other reasons, but the main reason is because there is a lot of loot in the village, this is why they need Yurko’s protection.
