Freek

Freek is an island planet in the zappidy system. It has a small population of around 500 million and is a bit smaller than Earth. Freek has many different towns that each have some sort of authority in them like a mayor or dictator. There are also massive sea creatures on Freek capable of overturning large cruise ships. The natives here are called flieans, but there is also a secret underwater race that lives thousands of feet below sea level. These creatures are called tatopas and they make large, beautiful underwater cities that no other species have ever seen.

Freek is full of exotic fish, with beautiful bright colors and a wide range of shapes and sizes. Because of this many tourists have called it the most beautiful planet. Along with the beautiful fish, there are also many snails, clams and large shrimp which are many different colors. The largest snail ever found on Freek was a globe snail, and it was 30 feet tall and wide in diameter, with large craters in its shell. The snail was named the Armanok, which means big snail in the flieans language. It was also purple with a gold speckled across its shell. The snail was alive when it was found, and it was returned to the ocean shortly after documentation. The water on Freek is very clear, which many say is because of the large clams that multiply quickly and are found almost everywhere. Others also say it is due to the underwater plants that grow in every open space. Many people on Freek are very good swimmers because they spend most of their free time in water, having created multiple sports and things to do underwater. Many have even created “underwater gardens” where they grow edible underwater plants and fight off underwater rodents like the skullo and riv rat.

The fish on Freek are very docile, often coming up to the native flieans and swimming around them playfully. The flieans also regularly feed large fish from their hands. This can be dangerous, as some fish have sharp fins that could cut easily if they rubbed against skin. Though many oppose it, the “taming” of large fish is illegal on most islands, meaning it is illegal to put fish on a leash or put them in a gated enclosure. People on Freek don’t agree with this and sometimes try to illegally keep them as pets. These rules are still for the best because most of the fish are too large to be kept in small enclosures. On the other hand, smaller fish can still be kept in enclosures that are at least an acre in diameter. Some of the most playful fish are the koap and clici. People on Freek are so enveloped with the oceans that they usually completely disregard the plants on land, and most just have a few basic trees in their yards.

Alien hunters used to visit freek often but now not as much because the native forces are strong enough to defend the planet from them.
